Finding camping spots that are big enough to fit a 40 foot fifth wheel is a big challenge!
Most of the places we have stayed are Thousand Trails parks. When you make reservations online, you enter the length of your RV. Otherwise we’ve called to make reservations, and we share our length to ensure we can fit.
That being said, there have been a few times where we were told we could fit, and we disagree. It was very stressful trying to park our 41 foot RV in a narrow RV site!
The best advice we can share is to ask the attendant at the RV park how to best navigate their park. They will tell you, “stay out of here” or ‘you can turn here” because they know their parks best!
