Royal Coachman RV Resort in Nokomis FL

One of the most magical RV Resorts we’ve stayed at in Florida is the Royal Coachman RV Resort in Nokomis FL. We lived close by for years but had no idea this gem was right in our backyard. The trees are tall, inspiring, and a nice break from the beach in the Florida Gulf Coast.

Hi, we’re the RV Odd Couple. We sold our house & most all of our possessions to hit the road and live in an RV full-time with our toddler and dog. After staying in a few RV resorts in Florida, we chose this one to share because it was so special. We visited the Royal Coachman RV Resort in August and November 2018 and we did not want to leave!

Among the many things we loved about the Royal Coachman RV Resort, these are the things that most stood out:

What Made Royal Coachman RV Resort Unique

  1. Gated RV Resort:

We absolutely love the fact that Royal Coachman RV Resort has a gate with a code. We felt so much safer knowing that only those with the gate code could enter & exit! Since we are RVing with our Family, safety is a top priority. The surrounding areas were nice, so we weren’t in fear- but the gated code elevated this RV Park to a league of its own!

  1. Amazing Trees:

Florida is so hot in the summer! Unless you are in the water, being outside in the Florida sun is not fun! The huge pine trees cool off the temperature. The breeze flowed nicely between the trees and being outside with the family was super enjoyable!

  1. Immaculately Maintained:

This park is immaculate. The staff works on maintaining the facilities constantly. The park units are also kept in tip-top shape. This is huge! We know firsthand that keeping grounds maintained in Florida is a lot of work because the sun & humidity is so conducive to vegetation growth.

  1. Salt Water Pool:

The pool is huge! And this isn’t a regular, high-chlorine, burn your eyes pool. This is a huge Salt Water Pool! The salt water feels so nice on the skin. The pool is also kept up immaculately. They have a couple of toys for kids and the staff and residents are super friendly.

  1. Rig Wash:

This was such an unexpected bonus! They have a drive through area to wash your rig, (or car in our case). The foresight that they had when creating this Nokomis RV park is outstanding because the pine trees do release sap. Having a rig was so close was awesome. There are two hoses and there is plenty of room to rinse or full on wash your rig.

  1. Dog Park:

This RV Resort is a treat for your furry friend too! This RV Park has a Dog Park. It’s gated and has bags for waste. It’s well maintained and even has toys. Skippy loved it. Even though our dog can’t talk, he made it clear that he liked this RV resort too!

10/10 Cleanliness & Maintenance – The Park is cleaned and maintained daily.

8/10 Affordability at Regular Rates – The Royal Coachman RV Resort is pricey if you don’t have a membership to Encore, but so worth it!

10/10 Accessibility w/ Big Rig Despite all of the trees it was relatively easy to maneuver.

Our Costs & Relationship to Encore Resorts:

We were not paid for this review! We are members of Thousand Trails and Encore. But we paid for our membership. We paid the member cost of $20/night to stay at this resort. One of the benefits of paying our own membership & resort fees is that we are under no pressure to give positive reviews. We are not holding back and we are telling it like it is.
